1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of MyRooty (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal data when you visit myrootyapp.com, take the quiz, enter an email, pay for a plan, write to us, or use related product features.

We follow applicable data protection law, including the EU GDPR and, where it applies, the UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

2. What we mean by personal data

Personal data is information that identifies you or can be linked to you, such as an email address, quiz answers, or a payment reference. We keep only what we need for the purposes below, try to keep it accurate, and do not keep it longer than those purposes require.

3. Data we collect

You give us

• Quiz answers (for example when the night usually runs, what you want back, how often you drink).
• Email address, and an optional name if you provide one.
• Messages you send to support.
• Checkout choices (plan length) and billing details you enter with our payment provider.

Collected automatically

• Technical logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, needed to run and secure the site.
• Approximate location from IP, if our host records it.

From other services, if you choose them

• Apple Health or similar device data, only if you connect it in the product and allow the categories on your device. We treat those signals as optional context, never as proof that you drank.
• Payment status from Stripe (success, failure, subscription period), not your full card number.

We do not ask children for data. The Service is for people 18 and over.

4. Why we use it

We use personal data to:

• Show your plan. Quiz answers and email let us build and display a starting plan. Legal basis: steps toward a contract, and your request.
• Provide a paid subscription. Email, plan, and payment status so we can deliver access, renewals, and cancellation. Legal basis: contract.
• Send service email. Receipts, access, and important account notices. Legal basis: contract and legitimate interest in running the Service.
• Send product email about the plan or similar MyRooty content, where the law allows, including through our email tool. Legal basis: consent, or legitimate interest in similar products after a purchase, which you can opt out of at any time.
• Support. To answer you and keep a record of the request. Legal basis: legitimate interest, and contract if the request is about your plan.
• Security, fraud prevention, and legal duties such as accounting. Legal basis: legitimate interest and legal obligation.

Some quiz answers can relate to health or wellbeing. We use them only to personalise the experience you asked for. We do not sell that information. We do not use it to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

5. Apple Health and similar signals

Connecting health data is optional and controlled by your device permissions. You can disconnect it. We do not claim those metrics prove alcohol use. Stress, travel, illness, and training can look similar. You confirm what looks right.

6. Who we share data with

We share data only as needed to run MyRooty:

• Hosting for this website and related servers.
• Stripe (or another named processor) for payment.
• Omnisend (or another named processor) to store contacts and send email you are eligible to receive.
• Apple only through the Health permissions you grant on your device.
• Professional advisers or authorities if the law requires it, or to protect rights and safety.

These providers may process data in the EU, UK, US, or other countries. Where we transfer data out of the EEA or UK, we use an approved mechanism such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

We do not sell your personal data.

7. How long we keep it

• Quiz answers tied to an email: usually up to 2 years after your last activity, or sooner if you ask us to delete them, unless we must keep a subset for the subscription.
• Customer and billing records: usually up to 5 years after the subscription ends, or longer if tax or accounting law requires it.
• Support emails: usually up to 3 years after the last message.
• Security logs: a shorter operational period, typically under 1 year, unless we are investigating an incident.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (access control, TLS in transit, limited staff access, secrets kept off the public website). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Tell us promptly if you think your account or email has been misused.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access a copy of your personal data;
• correct inaccurate data;
• delete data in some cases;
• restrict or object to certain processing;
• receive data you provided in a portable format;
• withdraw consent without affecting processing that already happened;
• opt out of marketing email (every marketing message includes a way to stop, or write to us);
• if you are in California, request to know, delete, or correct personal information, and not to be discriminated against for using those rights.

To use these rights, email support@backlogbridge.com. We may need to confirm it is you. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We would rather fix the issue with you first.

10. Cookies and similar technology

The site needs some storage to function (for example to remember quiz progress in your browser for that session). We do not use advertising cookies on the marketing site today. If we add analytics later, we will update this section and, where the law requires, ask before non-essential cookies run.

11. Children

MyRooty is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will change the date at the top. For material changes we may also email you or show a notice on the site.
